Beginning in the City of Streator, paddlers on this section of the North Vermilion will enjoy lots of nice scenery and a decent flow down river over some some small riffles and rapids. The river passes through stone cliffs and wooded terrain that provide lots of solitude and a beautiful setting. The river is very wide through this section so debris and obstructions do not pose a problem and the flow is easy making it a great option for paddlers of all skill levels. There is an alternate access point just before the Sandy Ford Nature Preserve that can be used as an alternate take-out or good resting spot.
