The Pecatonica River between Trask Bridge Forest Preserve and Two Rivers Forest Preserve is like most of the Pecatonica River, very peaceful and remote. The river is slow and very winding creating lots of side ponds and flooded areas that make for interesting paddling. There is also lots of opportunity for birdwatching and viewing other types of wildlife along the wooded shoreline. The river is very wide so obstructions that block the whole river are rarely an issue but there may be occasional small obstructions that need to be maneuvered around. This section of river runs entirely through private land so accessing the river is only allowed at the put-in and take-out at the forest preserves.
