The Pecatonica River Water Trail offers paddlers multiple trip options along the remote and scenic river in northern Illinois. The river is wide and very mild making it a good option for paddlers of all skill levels. The water trail is broken up into 8 trips that all have great access and convenient shuttling routes. This trip is a combination of trips #4 and #5 which leaves from the Wes Block trailhead access and ends at the Hancock boat access. There is another access point at Tutty's Crossing which is the take-out for trip #4 and offers a grill and ice cream parlor as well as a huge parking lot and ramp. The Hancock access is only 0.5 miles further and marks the end of trip #5 so either take-out will work depending on what your plans are.
