Located on the Pecatonica River, this scenic forest preserve offers miles of trails that explore the diverse terrain of wetlands, oxbow swamps, and woodlands. The area is known for great wildflower viewing in the spring and wildlife viewing all year long. The unpaved trails within the preserve are only accessible for hiking. This trip can be lengthened or shortened by using multiple connecting trails within the trail system. The preserve offers a nature center, interpretive trails, canoe access to the river, and multiple picnic areas.
