This paved loop trail explores the diverse terrain of Poplar Creek Nature preserve as it makes it way around multiple ponds, lakes, woodlands, wetlands, prairies, and savannas, all within a suburban setting just 35 miles from downtown Chicago. The paved trail is fairly level with just a few small hills and should be very ridable for bikers of all skill levels. There are quite a few road crossings so be sure to pay attention to traffic. The trail is also popular with walkers and runners so watch out for others along the way.
