Located in the western end of the Midewin National Tallgrass Prairie, this short loop hike travels through savanna and woodland restoration area that is home to abundant wildlife and birdlife. The area is also a great place for viewing a wide variety of wildflowers. The area is very remote and offers lots of solitude. The trail can connect to other trails within Midewin National Tallgrass Prairie via the Henslow Multi-use Trail that is accessed from the same trailhead as Prairie Creek Woods.
