This large forest preserve located in Lake County offers rolling hills and open vistas of beautiful scenery excellent for enjoying nature. The eastern trail serves as the main access into the preserve and offers gravel and dirt trails for hiking, biking, and cross-country skiing as well as a separate grass trail for equestrian riding. The trail leads to two fishing piers that are used to access Timber Lake. The area offers excellent fishing and birdwatching. There is also a western section of trail into the preserve but the two trails do not connect.
