Rend Lake is a large, scenic lake located in southern Illinois that offers a wide variety of recreational opportunities including paddling and wildlife viewing along its many miles of shoreline. The Sandusky Creek South public ramp provides excellent access to the southern half of the lake near the dam and spillway. The lake is part of a state fish and wildlife area that also provides excellent fishing, camping, picnicing, and swimming. The lake is large and is popular with motorboats and some houseboats so watch out for larger boats while on the lake.
