This preserve is one of the largest in all of Lake County and offers some of the best scenery, wildlife viewing, and birdwatching opportunity in the area. The wide gravel trail popular for hiking and biking travels through woodlands, wetlands, and open prairies with lakes and ponds full of interesting wildflowers and wildlife. There are also sections of trail that go over bridges and boardwalks as well as a designated bird observation path and deck.
