The Saline River is a remote, peaceful river that has a very minimal gradient creating calm waters perfect for a relaxing float trip down the river. Starting just downstream from Hwy 1 the river runs through primarily wooded terrain on its way to Saline Landing located right before the convergence with the Ohio River. There are no alternate put-in and take-out spots and the banks along the river are muddy and steep so floating all 14 miles of the river is required. Permission is required from the local residents to take out at Saline Landing so be sure to obtain the access before setting out.
