Following the Salt Creek Greenway Trail, this ride begins at the southern end of Busse Woods Forest Preserve and travels south for many miles along the Salt Creek to the turnaround at the south end of the Elmhurst Salt Creek County Forest Preserve. The ride travels through multiple parks, forest preserves, residential neighborhoods, golf courses, and industrial areas along the way providing an array of diverse scenery. Many of the parks and forest preserves along the way also provide additional trails for riding. The Salt Creek Parkway Trail does continue on further and connects by utilizing some streets and the Illinois Prairie path giving visitors many more riding options. The trail is multi-use and is popular for hiking, biking, and cross-country skiing so watch out for others along the trail, especially in the areas close to forest preserves.
