Starting just below the dam of Lake Clinton north of the Highway10 bridge, this section of the Salt Creek of the Sangamon is a more remote, less paddled route that flows through thick wooded terrain and rural farmlands. The river is not as wide during through section and there is lots of vegetation along the shoreline which can result in downed trees and other obstacles that may require some portaging. The take-out for this run is located just downstream from the first bridge after the Highway 51 overpass.
