This section of the Salt Fork of the South Vermilion River is a nice option for a short outing along a scenic stretch of the river. The trip starts with some fun riffles but ends with a slow, easy current. Scenery along the way includes lots of wooded shoreline, tall cliffs, and an old railroad bridge. Leaving from Anderson Hill Bridge paddlers float on the river to the mouth of the North Fork and up the North Fork for a half mile to the take-out. Be sure to make the turn and take-out on the North Fork as there is a large dam on the Salt Fork of the South Vermilion that is very dangerous.
