Skokie Lagoons, located 25 miles from downtown Chicago, provides visitors with beautiful scenery and lots of opportunity for enjoying nature. This loop hike explores the northern half of Skokie Lagoons between Tower Road and Dundee Road. Following the North Branch Trail hikers will circle around the lagoons traveling through dense woodlands full of diverse vegetation and wildlife. The area is especially great for birdwatching. The trails are multi-use and popular with bikers and hikers, and can be busy on weekends, so pay attention to others while using the trails.
