Sugar River Preserve offers multiple trails that explore woodlands, sand prairie, wetland, and lush river habitat home to abundant wildlife and diverse vegetation. The trails are open to hikers only with some sections that also allow equestrian riding. Much of the trail system travels aside the Sugar River which is popular for fishing and canoeing. The preserve also offers primitive camping and lots of picnic areas.
