This section of the Timber Ridge Trail explores the Timber Ridge Forest Preserve leading through woodlands, wetlands, and prairie terrain alongside a small lake providing excellent opportunity for enjoying wildlife and nature. The trail connects to both the Great Western Trail and the Illinois Prairie Path making it a nice option for a side trip or a shortcut. The trail is hard-packed dirt and is open for all types of recreational activities. The trail also passes the historic living-history Kline Farm that provides tours and educational activities when open. There is also fishing on the lake and picnic areas available within the preserve.
