The trailhead is at the campground where you can find restrooms and drinking water. The entry fee to the park is higher for out of state vehicles. You will go through a well-established hardwood forest, ravines, some stream crossing, uphill in certain parts and the views of the lake from the ridgeline are almost unobstructed.
