Yellow River State Forest has some of Iowa’s best trails for hiking, horse riding, and cross-country skiing during the winter. The Big Paint Campground is located in the Paint Creek Unit and offers both non-electric sites as well as electric sites for tent or trailer camping. Vault toilets and trash receptacles are provided. Each site contains a picnic table and fire ring. No drinking water is provided so campers will need to bring their own.
