The trail is made of dirt walking path, fossil bed and crushed stone. It is prohibited to extract or damage the fossils. The best time to visit is spring or fall, when it is not too hot. If you visit during the summer months, make it early morning before it the heat raises. The ground is uneven with a steep climb.
