At the Hickory Grove Park, fishing is popular year-round. Boats of all sizes are welcome as long as they observe the “no wake” speed limit. The park is located in Story County, at the “Golden Triangle,” Hickory Grove Park is a 45 minute drive from Des Moines, and 15 minutes from Ames, where Iowa State University is located.
