Ahaquabi means, “resting place” in Sauk and Fox word. The Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) built many of the structures in the park in the 1930’s and still in working condition today. There are two boat ramps on the lake. A concession facility that rents boats, canoes, kayaks, and paddleboats is located at the large sandy beach. You may also purchase bait there.
