At the beginning of this trip, you will see the prettiest stretch of the Middle Raccoon River. As you enjoy the view, pay attention to a riffle with choppy waves. With a 40-foot bluff straight ahead, the river takes a sharp right turn, goes through short rapids, and enters a narrow wooded valley. There will be riffles and boulders to navigate through. The take out is upstream of the Redfield Dam on the river right.
