On this trip, you will encounter bluff with hardwoods, limestone exposures, huge boulders, limestone cliff and go through a gorge. The put in is a few hundred yards downstream from the dam. There are riffles throughout and the Searryl’s Cave, which is the home to Iowa’s largest hibernating bat colonies. The take out is on a trail underneath the Ozark Bridge. You will need to carry your vessel up hill.
