There are spots where the river becomes shallow as you are traveling. At the put in there is a carry-down beneath the bridge. You will pass by heavily wooded areas, farm, glacier deposited rocks, banks and island. When you come to the island take the narrower channel on the left, it is deeper; you will also enjoy the tree limbs hanging over. Be ready to take out 300 yards before entering the Big Sioux River, do so at the high sandbar on the river left.
