This river is full of sharp turns. Parking is about 200 yards from the actual put in just past the small rapids. When the hills rise and you see the channel widening above a ford, go through the waves on the river right. When the water is low, there will be a short portage. Plan on a wide riffle that causes a logjam. If you desire to make this trip shorter, there is access upstream from 150th Street Bridge on the river left. Because of the heavily wooded areas, there are many snag-prone bends for a long stretch. A second logjam has been growing for several years and it can make it difficult to portage. Bellow the 170th Street Trestle bridge you will find a spirited riffle. After you pass the bridge, take out will be on the river right, about half mile downstream.
