This is not a very popular section of the Wapsi River, which is hard to understand. It is not very developed as far as houses go. You will see rugged cliffs and limestone formations everywhere. There is excellent paddling and it is very secluded. When the water is released from the dam at Anamosa, it makes this part of the river look muddier than upriver. The take out is at the the Newport Mills boat ramp.
