Barber County State Lake is located in Northeast Barber County at the north edge of the City of Medicine Lodge, in the Barber State Fishing Lake and Wildlife Area. There is camping and picnicking available throughout the area. Fishing is good for Largemouth Bass, Catfish, Walleye, Crappie, bluegill, and Carp. Wildlife is commonly seen and includes deer, turkey, quail, dove, waterfowl, and cottontail rabbit. The scenery is very pretty and contains many trees and grassy areas as well as the City of Medicine Lodge.
