This trail loops through woods and prairie surrounding a 77-acre lake in a 190-acre wildlife area. It is well-maintained and several trail signs provide information about the wildlife, soil, and other points of interest. There is a charming footbridge and dike on the north end of the lake is bypassed by the trail but easily accessed and it provides a good spot to observe wildlife. The southern third of the trail follows the gravels lake road.
