The Rocky Ford Recreation Area is a park-and-play spot for boaters. Coming from the bottom of Tuttle Creek Lake, the water is cool and fairly clear all year long. Large rocks and fast water make waves and holes where boaters learn and practice whitewater skills such as surfing and ferrying. Put-in and take-out at the same spot off of Rocky Ford Road. Take caution and do not paddle near the spillway. Best surfing opportunities are presented at water levels between 1,000-1,500 CFS. This is a great place for novice paddlers to practice.
