The Black Hawk Trail is one of the many great recreational opportunities at Pomona Lake. It is a parallel set of two trails, mostly singletrack, that run along the narrow corridor between the normal shoreline of the reservoir and the public land boundary. The orange blazes mark the route along the lakeshore and the blue blazes mark the higher route roughly following the project area boundary. Most of the area is wooded, with oak and other hardwoods, and there is lots brush, old farm fields, and meadows. You are never farm from views of the lake. High water makes crossing some low areas on the trail somewhat hazardous.
