Cheney Reservoir is a 9,550-acre lake located west of Wichita and adjacent to Cheney State Park and has a maximum depth of 42 feet. There is good fishing for a wide variety of fish. Cheney state Park is on the south end of the lake both on the east and west shore and is in three counties. The scenery from the water is gorgeous and consists of a line of trees around the shoreline, croplands, and prairies.
