Geary County State Lake is a 97-acre lake with a maximum depth of 45 feet and is located near Junction City in Geary County State Park. It was initially constructed in 1959 and rehabilitated in 1987. It is surrounded by 180 acres of public hunting land and there are many opportunities for viewing wildlife such as quail, pheasant, doves, squirrels, rabbits, white-tailed deer, beaver, muskrats, raccoons, coyotes, bobcats, and others. The water is very clear and beautiful and is stocked with a variety of fish. Campsites and picnic tables are also available.
