The nature trail that circles Kingman State Fishing Lake travels across prairie and marsh and through woodlands that border the lake. The wildlife area is regarded as one of the premier wildlife spots in Kansas by the Watching Kansas Wildlife: a Guide to 101 Sites. As you hike through streamside woodlands, native prairies, shrubs, several ponds, the lake, and a developed wetland you are likely to encounter pheasants, quail, deer, raccoons, beaver, muskrats, signs of bobcats, a plethora of reptiles and amphibians, and much more.
