La Cygnes Lake is a 2,600-acre lake with a maximum depth of 40 feet that is owned by Kansas City Power and Light. There are great opportunities for viewing wildlife, especially bald eagles, waterfowl, herons, white-tailed deer, and many other woodland animals and birds. The scenery is a wonderful mix of thick woods, tallgrass prairie, and wildflowers. Linn County Park comprises the west shore while the east shore is developed with the Kansas City Power and Light establishment.
