The Little Arkansas River flows through a pleasant streamway park in the north central part of Wichita. The park lines the river from 21st street to its confluence with the Arkansas River. A low-head dam near the confluence creates a shallow, sandy-bottomed pool that is normally deep enough to paddle. You can put-in anywhere that you find convenient, staying within safe distance of the dam, and paddle through the beautiful corridor of trees, grass, and walking trails with many pretty bridges and return to take-out in the same spot.
