The Manhattan Linear Park Trail skirts the southern edge of Manhattan and showcases the scenic riparian corridors of the Kansas and Big Blue Rivers and Wildcat Creek. Despite its urban setting, the trail is very natural and serene and offers many opportunities to see deer, turkey, pheasants, and songbirds. Beautiful panoramic views of the river and outlying Flint Hills and golden wheat fields are other spectacular views along the trail. The trail surface is a combination of crushed limestone and concrete and elevation changes are minimal.
