Mill Creek flows over beautiful, rocky ledges into deep pools, through hills, and past a mature hardwood forest that provides excellent habitat for deer and other wildlife. The water is very clear on this short float through Shawnee Mission Park. At levels below 25 CFS this section is not passable and approaching 50-100 CFS the riffles become more passable. The best paddling results are found at about 100-150 CFS. Sharp turns are punctuated by whitewater drops with even better surf below the ledges. As flows rise, the short drops combine to form complex rapids. Class III rapids and rock gardens make this an exciting run. Last Chance rapids are located at this end of this run and consist of a series of four closely spaced drops.
