The Missouri River is born from a small spring in the Rocky Mountains in Montana and changes character several times before reaching Kansas. Through the Kansas portion the scenery consists mostly of forested rolling hills and bluffs with lots of wildlife that include beavers, otters, muskrats, foxes, deer, and coyotes. Although the technical rating of the river only rates a Class II, it can be very tricky due to the width of the channel, speed of the current, and other complications. This section flows through lots of gorgeous agricultural land, thick, scenic woods, and once you enter Kansas City the scenery becomes quite industrial before ending in the charming Kaw Point Park.
