Smoky Hill River is one of the prettiest small streams in Kansas. It is long in length and has convenient access points that make it easy to run the river in two roughly equal segments. This second segment is especially scenic and beautiful. You will float through the gorgeous Kanopolis Wildlife Area, through a waterfowl refuge, past a very pretty forest and variety of plants, along high hills and tall sandstone cliffs, and end in the Horsethief Area of Kanopolis State Park. Wildlife is abundant and very commonly seen along the river banks.
