Toronto Lake is in the scenic valley of the Verdigris River, just south of the town of Toronto. It is adjacent to the Cross Timbers Area and Toronto State Park. The scenery consists of large prairies, woodlands, sandstone outcrops, and an island in the middle of the lake. Many wildlife viewing opportunities are present and some species that are commonly seen are white-tailed deer, red fox, raccoon, turkey, waterfowl, and bald eagles. Fishing, boating, and swimming are other popular activities.
