Wyandotte County Lake Park, only 13 miles from Kansas City, is a 1500-acre wooded park with a 330-acre lake. This trail weaves in and out of the woods and mowed clearings as it circles the lake. Vistas of the lake are rare despite its proximity and circumnavigation. Take caution on this trail after heavy rains as the muddy clay becomes slippery and can be difficult on the many hilly areas. The trail has some challenging hills, and if the surface is wet, challenging footing, also. Five trailheads are spaced around for convenience as well as the ability to shorten your hike or choose different segments. For mountain bikers, there are added segments of singletrack to make the trail longer and more challenging.
