Baxter State Park is a rugged wilderness park located in the North Maine Woods that includes over 200,000 acres of dense forests, clear lakes, and mountain peaks. The park offers visitors over 200 miles of hiking trails and almost 350 campsites spread throughout different areas of the park. Daicey Pond is a popular campground that is situated on the western shoreline of the pond that includes 10 walk-to camping cabins. The cabins can accommodate anywhere from 2-6 people depending on size and are equipped with wood stoves, campfire rings, picnic tables, small tables, bed mattresses, propane lanterns, and dispersed vault toilets. There is no drinking water available within the park. Fees are $44-$135 per night depending on cabin size and time of year. Reservations are available for some sites but must be made by phone directly through the park.
