The Allegheny Highlands Trail Maryland (AHTM) follows the route of the historic Western Maryland Railroad from Cumberland to the Pennsylvania border. The trail parallels the Western Maryland Scenic Railroad and its operational steam locomotive. Follow the AHTM north to travel toward the Mason-Dixon Line. Along the way you will pass through the Borden Tunnel, which was built in 1911 and is nearly 1000 feet long. There is beautiful scenery of the rolling hills as you ride. The Mason-Dixon Line is the official end of the AHTM however, the trail continues as the Great Allegheny Passage all the way to Pittsburgh.
