The Allegheny Highlands Trail Maryland (AHTM) follows the route of the historic Western Maryland Railroad from Woodcock Hollow Road to the Pennsylvania border. The trail parallels the Western Maryland Scenic Railroad and its operational steam locomotive. This train offers scenic, 3-hour excursions to interested travelers. There is beautiful scenery of the rolling hills as you ride. This route maintains a shallow, but steady downhill grade the entire way and is easily ridden out and back or one way.
