On this ride you will leave from Allen Pond Park in Bowie and traverse the wide open countryside and reach Bay Front Road before your return trip. The terrain is gently rolling with two easy hills and the roads are all paved and, for the most part, lightly traveled. Large expanses of agricultural fields, farmsteads, and forests dominate the scenery with a few quaint towns spotted in between. Beautiful views of the Patuxent River are available from the bridge on Central Avenue and you will skirt the edge of Wooton’s Landing Wetland Park and have views of the wetlands there. You will have to ride through a short residential section as you leave and approach Allen Pond.
