This hike is located in Gunpowder Falls State Park, one of Maryland’s largest and most dispersed, for it consists of about 17,000 acres of river valley and adjacent uplands spread all over northern and eastern Baltimore County, from tide water to the Pennsylvania border. This route explores a section of the Big Gunpowder River as well as traversing the upland forests. There are a few easy stream crossings, a pleasant waterfall, and a great swimming hole. This hike has beautiful views and is fantastically scenic.
