This hike is located in Cunningham Falls State Park and follows a section of the Catoctin Trail leading to two outstanding overlooks at the top of Bob’s Hill. Even if there wasn’t a view at the end of this hike, it would still be worth your time to escape the crowds at Cunningham Falls and Catoctin. This section of the Catoctin Trail, although well-blazed and maintained, gets little use. You will head uphill from the parking lot but the pitch is comfortable and there is a beautiful wide rock stream along the ascent. After about three-quarters of a mile the pitch slackens as you gain the ridge and pass through a grove of mountain laurel.
