This little gem of a park sits just 18 miles south of Washington D.C. and has a very isolated feeling. The hike contains an old estate house, now used as a lovely rental venue, and the remains of a small village. The mansion can be toured and the old homes can be explored. The trail traverses through thick forest, around large grassy fields, through a marsh, and to the Potomac River’s edge.
