Green Ridge State Forest stretches across the mountains of western Maryland with over 100 miles of dirt roads and trails and is especially suitable for mountain bikers. Green Ridge is great because of its mountainous region filled with trails and the fact that it is mostly ignored by everyone but hunters and this area especially is less visited than the rest, making it even more secluded. There is a great wilderness feel and the scenery is of low mountains and mixed hardwood forest and some rolling farmland. This route is on dirt forest road and there is some pavement along Old Cumberland Road. The ride along Fifteen Mile Creek Road is beautiful as it follows the falling mountain stream. Some short, steep descents and a couple moderate climbs give this route just enough of a challenge.
