Green Ridge State Forest stretches across the mountains of western Maryland with over 100 miles of dirt roads and trails and is especially suitable for mountain bikers. This area is a maze of small roads and trails which are perfect for exploration by mountain bike. It is easy to create loop trails of different lengths and difficulty. This particular route stays only on forest roads, which eliminates any technical riding required on the twisty singletrack. There is one difficult climb on Jacobs Road and two moderate climbs thereafter. The forest scenery is low-key but absolutely beautiful. This area is great because of its mountainous region filled with trails and the fact that it is mostly ignored by everyone but hunters.
